My Artists Statement
The lighting and wind at noon on Saturday, January 24, 2009
will never happen exactly the same again. This is why I love photography. I am
not so vain as to think I can show the world what beauty is, but to show the
world beauty that cannot be accessed again. In the digital age we live in, nothing
can really go away. Our human connectedness serves as a web of information that
is stored in people’s minds. How much of our memory is compromised or
idealized? What our brains store may not be what really happened, but a
photograph serves the purpose of showing the details, unchangeable, forever.
